Mike Mussina backed the Red Sox’ planned boycott of their season-opening Japan trip, until money was added for coaches and support staff. “They’re out here a lot more than the players are a lot of times,’’ Mussina said. When the Yanks went to Japan in 2004, the coaches and support staff share came from the players’ pool.The Moose is taking the high road on this one, though satisfaction is the death of desire.
